How and when can I view your Centre?

At Little Learners we have an open door policy, so you are welcome to visit for a tour anytime during our operating hours. Please contact one of our friendly staff to arrange a viewing of our Centre and see all of its exciting facilities!

Is there a minimum number of days that I have to enrol my child?

There is no minimum number of days that you need to enrol your child. However, we strongly advise a minimum of two days to assist with the settling-in process, as well as maximising the learning outcomes for your child.

Do you accept enrolments for children that have not been immunised?

Our Centre does not accept enrolments for children that are not up-to-date with their immunisations. As of the 1st of January 2016, all children attending Child Care are required to be fully immunised in accordance with the Victorian Government Immunisation Legislation, named "No Jab, No Play".


An immunisation certificate (obtained from Medicare) will need to be submitted as part of the Enrolment application process.

Do you have a Kindergarten program?

Yes we have a Government approved 4 year-old Kindergarten program, which includes a comprehensive School Readiness Program.

What are your opening hours?

Little Learners operates from 6.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.


Our Centre is closed on all Victorian Public Holidays.

What does the daily fee include?

The daily fee includes 5 nutritious meals (breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack), nappies & wipes, Sunsmart hat, sunscreen and all educational programs including our exciting incursions and excursions program.

Are the meals prepared at the Centre?

All meals are prepared on site by our qualified chef's. We value nutritious and well balanced meals and aim to source all our produce locally where possible.

What do I need to bring each day?

Milk if applicable (formula or expressed breast milk), 2 full changes of clothes, Sunsmart hat (for children under 12 months), jacket and beanie for winter and child’s comforter.

Do all children participate in the outside educational program?

At Little Learners we have both an indoor and outdoor educational program which all children participate in. There is a separate outdoor play area for the babies & toddler program to ensure a safe play environment for our little ones.

Do all children have a sleep time at the Centre?

Sleep/rest times are available in all rooms throughout the day. In the babies room, we follow parent’s home routine as best we can.

What happens if my child is unwell?

If your child is unwell, we ask that you keep them home to allow them to recuperate and to prevent the spread of illness to others.

If your child becomes ill whilst at our Centre, we will contact you to come and collect your child without delay. Depending on the nature of the illness, will determine how long your child will need to remain at home and whether a clearance certificate from your GP is required to be presented to the Centre.

What happens if my child is unable to attend their allocated day(s)?

If your child is unable to attend their allocated day (ie they are unwell or away on holidays) families are still charged their fee as it is their permanent day. We ask that families notify the Centre of any planned absences (ie holidays, days off) well in advance, if possible.


At Little Learners we offer a Holiday Discount, unlimited days of reduced fees per year, to assist families with the cost of childcare while they are away on leave. Please see one of our friendly staff to learn more about the Holiday Discount.

What happens if I am unable to collect my child?

If you are unable to collect your child by 6.30pm, we ask that you arrange for someone to collect your child. You will need to call the Centre informing us of the full name of the person collecting your child. Please ensure that the nominated person collecting your child brings photo identification (ie Drivers Licence or Australian passport) with them. If a valid photo identification is not presented, unfortunately they will not be allowed to collect your child. A photo-copy of the identification will be taken and kept on file.

Are your Educators qualified?

All Educators at our Centre have completed their qualifications and hold either a Certificate III in Children’s Services, Diploma in Children's Services or a Bachelors Degree.


Our on site chef’s are also fully qualified and hold Food Handling Certificates.

Do all your staff have Working with Children Checks?

All staff at our Centre have Working with Children checks, as required by Law.

Can I claim for the Childcare Subsidy (CCS)?

The Childcare Subsidy is determined by the government based on a set of eligibility criteria. Applications can be made through Centrelink or you can call them directly on 136 150 for more information.


The Childcare Subsidy can greatly assist families with the cost of childcare. It is the responsibility of families to follow this up directly with the government to determine if they are eligible.

What is a Customer Reference Number (CRN)?

A Customer Reference Number is obtained from Centrelink and is required in order for you to claim any Childcare Subsidy. Your CRN is required when completing our Enrolment Form.

The Childcare Subsidy can greatly assist families with the cost of childcare. It is the responsibility of families to follow this up directly with the government to determine if they are eligible.

What is the difference between the 10hr and 12hr sessions offered?

If you select the 12hr session, then you can drop off/pick up your child anytime during our operating hours of 6.30am to 6.30pm.

If you select the 10hr session, then you can drop off/pick up your child only between the hours of 7.30am to 5.30pm. The 10hr session is charged at a slightly lower rate.
